Discover "the slave trade and slavery", a visioguidated course of the Nantes History Museum.

Black trafficking is part of the history of the city of Nantes. From the 17th to the 19th century, it occupied a decisive place in Nantes trade and contributes to enriching the city. Today, the slave trade and slavery constitute a major axis of the Nantes History Museum.

Eleven museum rooms present objects devoted to this theme. The comments contained in this application allow them to be explored. The application helps you watch and interpret the documents. It also offers to zoom in on important details from a table or an archive. Guidance photos help the orientation from one room to another. A menu also offers you the possibility of selecting the comment of your choice.

During your visit to the museum, the application will allow you to understand which role Nantes played in slave Europe. You will learn how a milking campaign is organized. You will know the shipowners and traders behind this business. You will know how the sale of slaves is going. And you will discover their lives in plantations.
